Vision: In partnership with our community stakeholders, the Chelsea School District will prepare students to possess the skills to communicate effectively, express themselves creatively, think critically, and work collaboratively to maximize their potential and meet the challenges of a global society.
Academic
Goal #1Incorporate the portrait of a graduate profile across all learning environments to develop globally competitive graduates.
Academic
The Chelsea Schools will foster students to be innovative and critical thinkers who possess the ability to analyze and question by embedding researched instructional practices into the pre-k-12 classroom.
Objectives
- Create a learning environment that promotes student engagement and voice through the use of instructional best practices based on a comprehensive student centered experience.
- Plan, design, implement, and maintain fully aligned curriculum and instructional practices for all grades PK-12.
Measures
- The percentage of students achieving satisfactory performance on all sub-tests of the M-STEP, including the SAT, will annually rank among the top 10% in the State of Michigan.
- The percent of students making average or above average annual growth (cohort data) will annually rank among the top 10% in the State of Michigan.
- The percent of students making average or above average annual growth (cohort data) will annually rank among the top 5% in Washtenaw County.
Emotional

The Chelsea School District will foster students to be confident, reflective, and empathetic by supporting their overall mental health.
Objectives
- Develop learning opportunities for students that focus on instilling confidence, self-reflection, adaptability, grit, and empathy into their work.
- Staff will review resources and professional development opportunities to address gaps.
Measures
- Student artifacts that showcase the emotional branch competencies.
- The percent of students who take the BESS screener and indicate a strong sense of emotional wellness exceeds 80%.
- Staff is provided annual professional development surrounding the social branch.
Social

The Chelsea School District will foster students to be globally and culturally conscious citizens who act with integrity by providing opportunities for students to enhance social well-being.
Objectives
- Develop defined skills and attributes associated with the social branch, which can be integrated into staff's professional practices and daily instructional lessons.
- Staff will review resources and professional development opportunities to address gaps.
Measures
- District Provided Professional Development surrounding the social branch. All staff are provided annual professional development surrounding the social branch competencies.
- Student artifacts that showcase the social branch competencies.

Goal #2Provide and support a positive, safe, and healthy school environment.
Objectives
- Develop and implement a systematic continuum of behavioral supports for students that evaluates data, monitors effectiveness, and supports academic achievement.
- Annually review and revise Emergency Operations Plan with staff and community stakeholders.
- Expand security measures and supports at all buildings within the district.
Measures
- 80% of administrators and student support personnel will be trained in restorative practices.
- Analyze and monitor student service referrals, student perception data, and senior exit surveys.
- Sustain participation rates in athletics, music, and clubs.

Goal #3Strengthen organizational effectiveness and maximize community and district resources to support continuous improvement.

- Maintain between a 15-20% fund balance (per Board policy).
- Prioritize administrative roles and responsibilities which provide clear internal structure and purpose.
- Maintain the current district families we have while utilizing allocated bond funds for enhancement purposes.
- Pursue, explore, and obtain revenue generation.
Measures
- Maintain fiscal responsibility, including a fund balance between 15-20%.
- Awarded grant allocations that support the general fund will exceed $300,000 annually.
- Internal survey results which focus on organizational effectiveness.

Goal #4Nurture open communication and constructive partnerships within the school district and with surrounding communities.
Objectives
- Increase the district's involvement in and with community organizations (ex. Chelsea Education Foundation, Rotary, Chelsea Chamber of Commerce).
- Obtain input from all school community stakeholders during Strategic Planning Process (Fall 2023).

- District administrator's involvement with local organizations.
- Stakeholder survey results during Strategic Planning Process (Fall 2023).
