Dr. Nicholas W. Angel III

Leadership Journey:

Dr. Angel's educational journey began at Ann Arbor Huron HS. Upon graduating from Huron in 1998, he continued his education at Western Michigan University, where he earned his B.A. in English/Political Science. After graduating from WMU, he was hired at Blissfield High School to teach a variety of English courses including American Literature, British Literature, and Writer's Workshop. During his tenure at BHS, Dr. Angel served as a Football Coach, Student Council Advisor, School Improvement Team Member and held a variety of committee memberships. Next he joined the staff at Chelsea High School; Dr. Angel served as an Assistant Principal of Curriculm and Instruction at the HS for the 9th and 12th grade classes. 

Next, Dr. Angel was named the Principal of Dwight E. Beach Middle School where he served for 10 years in this leadership role. Dr. Angel's family all attend or have attended the Chelsea schools: Alannah (Graduate Student), Kylie (Medical Student), Ava (College Student), Brooklyn (CHS student) and his wife, Theresa, works for the Washtenaw ISD. Dr. Angel also is former Adjunct Professor at Adrian College in the Teacher Education Department and is currently an Assistant Professor at Madonna University in the Graduate School Education Department.  

The 2023-24 school year marks Dr. Angel's sixteenth year with the Chelsea Schools.

In November of 2021, he was appointed Principal of Chelsea High School. Go Dogs!
