This program will look at animals from differing habitats and the special features (adaptations) that help them survive.  Burrowing Animals will feature “fossorial” animals. These creatures spend much of their lives in burrows and holes in the ground.  Tree Dwellers are sometimes called “arboreal” animals. Some fly, some climb, some slither, but most of the time we find them by looking up.  Aquatic Creatures are the swimmers ---- all are in or near the water, from local ponds to far away swamps.  Deserts and Forests: animals ranging from the hot, hot deserts to the cool, cool woods and the features they need to live there.

Balloon Sculptures & Juggling Fun

Learn the basics of juggling moves so you can be the life of the party!  You will be provided with bean bags, which you will get to keep!  You will learn to make dogs, swords, hats, and other colorful balloon sculptures.  Who knows – you may even make some money at parties with your new skills!

If you are looking to have fun playing a team sport, try Field Hockey.  What is field hockey?  It originated in Persia in 2000 BC!  The game involves a team of 11 girls using a rounded stick and ball that is moved down a field, or in this case, the gym.  The game is fast becoming a popular sport played in the Midwest.  Field Hockey is an excellent team sport that is now offered at Beach Middle School and Chelsea High School through the Chelsea Field Hockey Club.  Play as a team and have fun learning the fundamentals of field hockey.

Mad Science and NASA have teamed up to bring you the excitement and wonder of space in the NASA Academy of Future Space Explorers!  Step into an astronaut's shoes as we travel to space, explore planet atmospheres and even participate in a live rocket launch!  It's out of this world fun with Mad Science!  In each class, children are encouraged to give science a try.  The Jr. Scientists even get to take home their science experiment to continue the learning all week long!

Boys and girls will need their own mat for class.
