CAMP GABIKA

Camp GABIKA

Children completing Young 5’s through fifth grade get ready for Camp Gabika’s fun-filled summer weeks! Camp Gabika is Chelsea’s Community Education summer day camp program, where campers keep minds and bodies healthy, build social skills, and develop independence and creativity. We do all of this while participating in weekly activities, sports and games, arts and crafts, walking trips around Chelsea, indoor and outdoor fun, and field trips to awesome destinations!

  • Camp opens at 7:30 a.m. for before care each morning.
  • Structured camp activities run from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • After care closes at 5:30 p.m.
  • The daily rate for camp in 2022 will be $60 per day.
  • When registering for a full week (all 5 days) families will pay $255 per camper for the full week.

Campers participate throughout the summer in many community-based activities including: building relationships with our partners at the Chelsea Senior Center through cooking and gardening, studying team-building skills with SRSLY, enjoying events with the Chelsea District Library, going bowling, meeting community members, and so much more!

We are working again in partnership with the Chelsea Wellness Coalition and 5 Healthy Towns Foundation to encourage campers to move more, eat better, avoid unhealthy substances and connect with others. Our staff will lead campers through our summer of fun camp activities and games.

NEW FOR 2022: Families will complete their registration by the week through their online childcare account at chelsea.ce.eleyo.com. Campers must register for a minimum of two (2) days per week. Families may choose to pay in full prior to the start of camp, or families will be invoiced on the 15th of June, July, and August automatically.

The cost of registration is inclusive of all camp costs, including trips/activities and snacks. Our trips this year will be TBA, as we work with many sites to schedule visits. Campers will need to bring their own lunch and comfortable, closed-toe shoes each day.

After June 1, registration will only be available by contacting the Community Education office, and will depend on staffing and available space.  It is recommended that you contact the office for registration at least 14 days in advance.
