Chelsea School District

The Community Education office is open 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.  However, Central Office is still closed to walk-in traffic, and we are often away from the phone as we work on programming.  Email directly if you have questions or cannot find the information you need on the website.

What is the 'Dawg Den'...it's a space to come spend your day and work on school work.   We will have grade-based rooms (K-2, 3-5, 6-12) where students will come during the school day and work on lessons and homework.

Each room will be hosted and facilitated by an adult employee from the school district, although not necessarily a certified teacher. They will be there to facilitate a safe environment for all students, and provide guidance in their specific content areas.

Students will need to bring their own school-assigned device, lunch and snack, and any other items they will need to be successful during the school day.  We will contain ourselves in our own rooms as much as possible, with opportunities throughout the day to take 'brain breaks' and go outside to get some fresh air.

The program will be offered every school day and it will cost $35 per day per student.  Prior to the start of the program, families will receive a calendar to indicate their days to ensure staffing and enrollment figures.  There will be a $100 deposit required at registration, which will be applied to the first bill of the fall.

This program will be housed in the 300 building at the WSEC (Early Childhood Center) and space is limited based on the classrooms we have available to us.  If you have additional questions about the program, please directly email Andrew Thomson (athomson@chelsea.k12.mi.us) or Scott Theisen (stheisen@chelsea.k12.mi.us).

Registration fees will be collected once the program starts in September. Your $100 deposit will be applied to your first payment.  COVID procedures will be sent out prior to the start of the program.
