SOCCER

We are looking forward to another Spring season of Bulldog Soccer School!  See below for program info.

Welcome back to the Bulldog Soccer School!  This spring, Coach Jordan and the crew from Chelsea Soccer Club and CHS soccer teams are back on the pitch.  Youth will register by their age (ages 4 through 10) and will then work on developing their soccer prowess for five Saturdays.  We will begin each week together as a whole group working on our skill for the week before moving into small groups for skills and drill work led by the coaches.  The second half of each session will be ‘small side’ scrimmages.

The benefits of this format include players developing essential coordination and motor skills that will benefit them in future athletic endeavors.  The ultimate goal is to provide as many touches on the ball for each youth as possible.

Each youth will need their own youth soccer ball.  Shirts are provided with registration.  When purchasing your own soccer ball, size 3 will be used for ages 4 – 7 and size 4 will be used for ages 8 – 10.  Shin guards are recommended for the older ages, and cleats are not required.

While qualified coaching staff from the Chelsea Soccer Club will be coordinating the youth soccer academy, as well as boys from the CHS soccer teams, we still will need many parent volunteers to make sure we are able to keep our skills groups small and insure great game play during our scrimmages.  If you are interested in being a head coach, you should not register online.  Please call the Community Education office at (734) 433-2208, Ext. 6074.  A mandatory training session for these coaches will be held prior to the start of the season.  This information will be posted and sent to all interested coaches once a date and time are established.

PLEASE NOTE NEW TEAM SPORTS REGISTRATION WINDOWS:
Regular registration – January 1 through March 15
Late registration – beginning March 16 automatically added to wait list and will be enrolled as space permits.
